El nuevo autoritarismo, la pedagogía crítica y la promesa de la democracia
Abstract
A medida que el autoritarismo se extendía a lo largo de América Latina en la década de 1970, era legitimado por una ideología basada en el terror y la violencia. Conforme los cuerpos desaparecían y el disentimiento era aplastado, los ideólogos de derecha proclamaron con grades fanfarrias que en la batalla contra el terrorismo la seguridad era más importante que la libertad, que la lucha contra el terrorismo era más crucial que la batalla por la democracia, y que la prevalencia de la ley sólo podría ser preservada mediante la imposición brutal del silencio y de la fuerza. En tales dictaduras las palabras se convirtieron en armas para aplastar el espíritu y vaciar toda esencia del sueño de democracia. Los tiempos cambian pero el espíritu del autoritarismo perdura y se reinventa a sí mismo en las nuevas ideologías políticas y formaciones sociales, que comparten esos momentos en la historia a los que Ana Arendt calificó de “tiempos oscuros”.Downloads
