El derecho humano a la educación
Abstract
Cuando Krishnamurti decía que cada uno de nosotros-as somos el pasado acumulado y que el mundo es la extensión de nosotros mismos-as (1941, pp. 30-31), sin duda también se refería a que el futuro puede construirse sobre la base de un aprendizaje liberador y no sobre el azar o el cálculo egoísta. El futuro de la educación y de sus mecanismos de garantía, así como de cualquier otro fenómeno de la cultura, tendrá que ser siempre el resultado de nuestra visión y acción sobre el presente, pues no existen realidades aisladas de las personas, ni conocimientos ni intenciones desligadas de la aprendiencia soberana y tumultuosa de cada ser. Así es como la historia se construye, con un brazo en el ahora y el otro en el después, empujándonos y halándonos hacia la condición de igualdad que deberíamos compartir, sin importar la etnia, el sexo, la edad, ni ninguna otra condición.
Al proponer una educación para el siglo veintiuno, nos comprometemos a intentar eliminar las prácticas y los patrones de conducta sociales y culturales basados en la idea de inferioridad o superioridad entre las personas y a impulsar procesos de democratización que permitan erradicar la discriminación y la pobreza.
