Antiplagiarism policy

Sinéctica is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. In accordance with international best practices and the principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), all manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened for originality using the Turnitin plagiarism detection software provided by ITESO.

This process ensures the identification of textual similarities and potential overlaps between submitted manuscripts and previously published materials. The analysis combines quantitative similarity indicators with qualitative editorial evaluation to distinguish between acceptable citation practices and potential academic misconduct.

Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or inappropriate textual appropriation will be rejected and deemed ineligible for publication.

The journal applies the following similarity thresholds as general guidelines:
Similarity percentages are interpreted in context. Editorial decisions are based not only on the numerical index but also on the nature, source, and extent of the overlap.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work, proper citation of sources, and compliance with ethical research and publication standards.
