De la filantropía a la autonomía. El caso de Piña Palmera

En este artículo se expone el proceso mediante el cual una intervención rehabilitatoria de corte filantrópico transita hacia una intervención socioeducativa orientada a construir la autonomía personal y colectiva de personas con discapacidad y sus familias en comunidades de la costa y sierra sur de Oaxaca. El documento describe una intervención que sustenta su éxito en el desafío que implica mirar críticamente y reinventar los paradigmas filantrópicos y médicos que, aún en nuestros días, dominan ese campo. El eje del trabajo es la narración de la manera en que Piña Palmera, AC, transformó sus propias ideas y prácticas de rehabilitación a partir de la introducción de una metodología novedosa en la intervención de personas con alguna discapacidad, así como de cruce con agentes relevantes de la coyuntura política local y nacional.Downloads
