Reseña: Representaciones sociales. Teoría e investigación
Abstract
El concepto de representaciones sociales surgió en Francia en 1961, con la autoría de Serge Moscovici, quien presenta una idea innovadora y fundamentada que, sin duda, es hoy uno de los grandes temas de interés dentro de la psicología social. A lo largo de las cinco décadas de vida de la teoría, ésta ha logrado un desarrollo teórico relevante y un sorprendente crecimiento empírico. Las representaciones sociales son, ciertamente, una teoría longeva si consideramos la corta vida de las teorías surgidas desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX hasta nuestros días. Es también una propuesta que ha suscitado el interés creciente de diversas disciplinas relacionadas con la educación, los estudios de género y las ciencias sociales en general; así lo constatan la aparición de la revista Papers on Social Representations, la apertura de programas de estudio de doctorado en universidades de Italia, Francia y México, entre otros países, y la abundante literatura que circula en diversos idiomas.
