Abstract
Antes de sentirnos agradecidos (los que disfrutamos la novela de Volpi), pensemos en los otros científicos en ciernes de la misma generación, a quienes la enseñanza formal también ahuyentó de la ciencia. ¿Habrán encontrado, como Volpi, una carrera igual de satisfactoria?, ¿cómo les afectó el desencuentro con su primer amor?
