El 15 de septiembre de 1943 parte el convoy que llevaría a Etty Hillesum, junto con su familia, a la muerte anónima en Auschwitz. De 28 años, esta joven creyó en la palabra como el único puente para trascender su propia humanidad. De 1941 a 1943, en una pequeña habitación de Amsterdam, escribe un diario en el que da cuenta de su camino espiritual. A través del libro Etty Hillesum. Amsterdam 1941-Auschwitz 1943, el jesuita Paul Lebeaud nos conduce a la lectura ordenada de este diario, escrito en 11 cuadernos escolares y cuya luz no vieron sino cuarenta años después de haber sido redactados.
