Abstract

Mucho se ha hablado sobre el desarrollo profesional del profesorado, pero pocas veces se ha comparado lo que pasa entre diferentes países de habla hispana, como son los casos de España y Latinoamérica. Por tal motivo, el propósito de este artículo es describir y analizar la formación de profesores y su desarrollo profesional en esas dos regiones. Presenta conceptos como la formación y el desarrollo profesional, un análisis del papel del profesor, y lo que une y separa a España y los países latinoamericanos en cuanto al desarrollo profesional de los profesores, así como algunas diferencias identificadas en sus contextos.

Francesc Imbernon Muñoz

Doctor en Filosofía y Ciencias de la Educación. Catedrático de la Universidad de Barcelona (España); coordinador del grupo Formación Docente e Innovación Pedagógica de la misma universidad y director del Observatorio Internacional de la Profesión Docente. Sus líneas de investigación versan sobre formación permanente del profesorado.

Pedro José Canto Herrera

Doctor en Educación Superior. Profesor investigador de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (México). Sus líneas de investigación versan sobre ética profesional, formación de profesores, currículo y enseñanza.
