EL GÉNERO EN EL SALÓN DE CLASES
Abstract
Categoría impulsada por el feminismo académico anglosajón fue introducida para diferenciar las construcciones sociales y culturales de la biología. Así el sexo se refiere a las características físicas, mientras que el término género se aplica a los significados, símbolos y prácticas que cada cultura atribuye a la diferencia sexual. En el proceso de construcción de género, la sociedad fabrica las ideas de lo que deben ser los hombres y las mujeres, de lo que se supone es "propio" de cada sexo. Estas construcciones son asumidas en un proceso individual y social mediante el cual mujeres y hombres asumen valores y comportamientos según sus cuerpos sexuados.
