Productividad en el ISI de los investigadores mexicanos y consolidados (nivel III) del SNI, en Physics Multidisciplinary, 1996-2003

En este artículo mostramos la productividad alcanzada por los investigadores mexicanos consolidados, nivel III, del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI), en las disciplinas definidas por el Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) a partir del número de publicaciones mexicanas de 1996 a 2003. Utilizamos el criterio de Bauwens (1998) para llevar a cabo un ranking por institución y autor individual en la disciplina del ISI con la mayor concentración de publicaciones mexicanas, es decir, Physics Multidisciplinary. Este análisis bibliométrico sirvió para identificar a los investigadores mexicanos consolidados que mostraron el mayor respaldo internacional, como realmente lo es el publicar en revistas de calidad ISI. El principal hallazgo es que los investigadores nivel III tienen un nivel de publicación ISI escaso (promedio anual de 0.4 artículos por investigador), y representa 18% de las publicaciones mexicanas en el ISI. La Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y el Centro de Investigación y de EstudiosAvanzados (Cinvestav) fueron las instituciones con más citas en el campo PhysicsMultidisciplinary.
