Abstract

En este artículo se analizan los fundamentos teóricos en los que se sustenta el desarrollo de sistemas de monitoreo y evaluación de la calidad de la educación y se describen los modelos de evaluación más representativos del ámbito educativo. El artículo se propuso dar respuesta a las siguientes interrogantes: ¿qué implica monitorear y evaluar los sistemas educativos?, ¿qué papel desempeñan los modelos de evaluación, los indicadores y los estándares en estos procesos?, ¿cuáles son las fuentes de las que se derivan los indicadores educativos?, y ¿cómo se seleccionan los indicadores que pueden dar cuenta de la calidad de un sistema educativo?

Benilde García Cabrero

Profesora titular del Departamento de Psicología Educativa y Desarrollo de la División de Estudios de Posgrado de la Facultad de Psicología de la UNAM. Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores del Conacyt y consejera técnica del Instituto Nacional para la Evaluación de la Educación (INEE), donde colabora en la Dirección de Indicadores Educativos. Profesora de diversas universidades nacionales y evaluadora de programas en instituciones nacionales e internacionales, como UNESCO, CERLALC, UNICEF, OCDE, Conafe, IFE y SEP, entre otras.
