La cultura cívica y de género de dos maestras de Guadalajara, 1920–1980
Abstract
Después de la creación de la Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) en 1921, José Vasconcelos invitó a la poetisa chilena Gabriela Mistral (1889–1957) para que colaborara en su campaña de alfabetización, elaborara documentos sobre el papel que deberían desempeñar las maestras en el proyecto modernizador del Estado revolucionario y especificara qué debía ser una maestra, en su calidad de representante de la imagen de la maestra de América Latina (Cano, 1996; Fiol-Matta, 2004; Franco, 1994; Schell, 1998; Vaughan, 1982).
