Abstract
El libro que Oresta López ha construido se ubica dentro de los estudios que buscan nuevos sujetos sociales, aquellos personajes cotidianos que han quedado marginados de los grandes sucesos de la historia, aquellas historias que nadie ha querido ver o que a nadie ha interesado narrar. Tal es el caso de las maestras rurales mexicanas de la posrevolución. Alfabeto y enseñanzas domésticas. El arte de ser maestra rural en el Valle del Mezquital pone en el mapa de los estudios de género y de la historia de la educación a las maestras que laboraron en el México rural de los años veinte y treinta en la zona otomí del estado de Hidalgo.
